Four Wheel Drive Queensland

Four Wheel Drive Queensland (4WD QLD) was formed over 25 years ago. Several members from various Four Wheel Drive Clubs across the State got together in an effort to unite the voice of Four Wheel Drivers in promoting recreational Four Wheel Driving.

In 2011, 4WD QLD membership exceeds 60 Clubs accounting for approximately 4000 4WD club memberships. Participation in the Management of 4WDQ is only available to financial club members. Membership also includes some clubs from the northern NSW areas.

Main areas of focus for 4WD QLD include recreational access to land, environmental education, assisting with sustainable land management strategies, involvement in community consultation, Public Liability Insurance for clubs and Comprehensive 4WD Insurance for club members.

4WD QLD is also a Registered Training Organisation that delivers a nationally accredited Driver Awareness Program in conjunction with the Certified Trainers in Clubs and in accordance with the new Australian Quality Training Framework This training is Nationally Recognised and is only available through affiliated clubs and their financial club members.

Home base for 4WD QLD is the Hall and office, at Moorooka, where meetings are regularly held by management, sub-committees and Representatives. Many clubs hire the hall to conduct their own regular club meetings or private functions. Each Thursday evening of every month are reserved for FWDQLD business with the monthly mail-out produced on the first Thursday, sub-committee meetings on the second Thursday, management meeting on the third Thursday and Club Representatives meeting held on the fourth Thursday of every month. The Club Representatives Meeting is the opportunity for all member clubs to get together, share information and provide feedback for the ongoing direction of 4WD QLD activities.
